the amount of hands involved in one piece of popular music is insane, and they are not hacks. producers, engineers, co-writers. these are all trained, highly capable individuals. is that not technical?

if you can find me an example of an artist that is making music that is not technical that is popular - the only objective metric that we can have in this discussion - i'll by all means reconsider my feelings on the matter

This is brilliant. Totally wrong on at least two counts (“only”, “effect”) but nobody objects because the core proposition (“some technical music is bad”) is obviously true. Scary to think of you using these powers somewhere more consequential than twitter.

Plus the implication that technical music is bad, which you don’t state but that never stopped anyone hearing it. Are you practising for a run for political office?
