There may be a disconnect here. To me "suddenly developing a theory of mind" means e.g. developing gestural communication or that sort of thing, not "realizing when you yell at someone they might not like it" or whatever.

I'd say it's a bit on the overrated side and models of mind built up from one's own introspective template have sources of unreliability / dangerous pitfalls that are unique to MoMs of this kind... even before you account for introspection being unreliable crap
