it's funny that the "positive" and "negative" in positive and negative reinforcement are in the cybernetics sense (whether something is being added or removed) and you can't even find somebody *with a degree in psychology* who isn't reflexively reading them as "nice" and "mean"

jargon should never exist for the sake of being inscrutable. If the term is longer than the description it's unnecessary.
