it's funny that the "positive" and "negative" in positive and negative reinforcement are in the cybernetics sense (whether something is being added or removed) and you can't even find somebody *with a degree in psychology* who isn't reflexively reading them as "nice" and "mean"

They talk about it in terms of pos/neg reinforcement. But you're right. It's practiced terribly.

I take your larger point but beg to differ about professionals. I never see the adjective used; mostly “psychosis” or “delusions.” But I haven’t seen confusion between those concepts in any of my experience, which involves psychosis a lot, but not antisocial personality disorder
