What’s a good name for a house?

My parents named all their houses, poorly, as was their nouveau-riche wont. I'd recommend either referring to a house by some portion of its address, naming it with a pun off of one of its distinctive features, or using some omen observed at the time of its "opening"

If you see a crane fly over it when you're moving in, for example, it might be "Crane House." Things I would advise against: puns on the names of the residents, names which suggest a particular manner of use, things conceived as, generally, spanning lengths of time

imho naming of objects is something that should occur in a moment, allude to that moment elegantly, and not try to be much more clever than that. Anyway, potentially contentious subject, I realize now

have you considered The Red House though completely straightforward yet sounds like it ominously designates a place where acts of an extremely specific and unusual nature are performed
