yeah, actually perceiving oneself to be endangered and having high stress/anxiety seem like so much the same thing to me that it hadn't occurred to me to separate them conceptually, so now i need to think about whether one should lol

i dont really worry about my own safety or consider myself to be in much danger because i have (too much) confidence in my ability to handle situations that might be dangerous. I worry endlessly about protecting my family and home - for whatever thats all worth

a lot of people that raised me were big on self and home defense, as well as being responsible for your family. since i was raised by a lot of strong men, i think that i was taught from a young age that a person needs to protect their family if they are able
