My belief in free will is challenged every time I accidentally fat-finger the wrong word in autocomplete and mentally rewrite what I was going to say to accommodate the new word.

You're just learning to use the text box as extra short-term memory. I've been dependent on that for decades. Trick is to never allow autocorrect, autocomplete or spellcheck.
