Now apply this logic to Jacobin readers.

yeah it's pretty cool how socialism has been popularized without the associated mass shootings the popularization of right wing ideology has caused, it really shows how the left is much healthier than the right and, dare I say it, fundamentally better.

Good job backtracking on the substance of the original claim.

Extremely rational take. Maybe you can earn your username by exploring how radicalization into group A might potentially have a different result than radicalization into group B, given that group A and B are not identical. Think of it as an exercise for the reader.

It’s not really that it’s special, it’s “his” in group can be distinguished in tangibly physical, consequential ways ie radicalization into it in 2019 doesn’t result in mass shootings You can argue that special applies here or not but are you disputing the consequences ?

I'm disputing the original claim that "every irony culture becomes real." So guillotines will become real too? Or is the online left too special to be subject to this dynamic?

consider: maybe irony culture jokes about feeding a few CEOs to guillotines and irony culture jokes about exterminating entire races are not on the same moral plane, because neither are the acts they joke about.

I think they are on the same moral plane and ironically joking about guiilotining CEOs (or anyone) is in extraordinarily poor taste and should be cringed at and discouraged
