elo/they fun fact: elohim is a collective noun and means something more like "the gods" rather than "God", but Judaism shifted from monolatry to monotheism much later and kept the old epithets because of textual preservationism.

the singular is eloah (compare Yoruba “loa”), it can still be found in one poem where it couldn’t be stealthily edited out without fucking up the meter

both are masculine though, feminine elohim would probably be something like elohōt
