Yeah, it’s actually more like “interval” than “power” but good luck explaining the fact that you can adjust an electric range but not a the power output of a microwave because of how physics is.

This is why cooking something for twice as long at “half power” cooks it exactly as much as normal. It just gives it a bit of a rest between pulses allowing the internal temperature to spread more evenly.
