Is this connected with what people mean when they say "gender essentialism"? I thought "gender essentialism" only meant "the belief that gender is not entirely socially constructed" but this other "essentialism" creates a different interpretation of the phrase.

afaik people only use "gender essentialism" derogatorily and in reference to presumed non-strategic essentialism
