definitely more programming i think i see what you mean though, if you think of recursion as successively breaking down a problem there's a scale-like metric there

not necessarily "breaking down" a problem. think of it more like "building up" a problem, like when you build an ORM that turns OR statements into recursive queries and then unions them together! jfc. in the ORM author's defense, i'm sure he didn't expect them to OR 1000 terms!
