being unable to tell the difference between the fascists and the people opposing fascists, and admonishing the latter to be more civil...just get out fo the fucking way, already.

yeah, when you want to sacrifice high school kids to Moloch because you've decided your feelings about a symbol make them fascists, that's when people should definitely the fuck not be getting out of your way

Dude, this administration is literally sticking Central American children in camps along the border and multiple kids have died (btw a MAGA hat would seem to be an endorsement). I don’t see how that’s comparable to socially censuring a bunch of rich teenagers for being assholes.

"censuring". aka doxing, which is to say making them physically available to every crazy on the internet. aka campaigning to have them expelled from their school. aka campaigning to revoke college acceptance. on the basis on straight-up lies and agitprop.

You’re assuming they did nothing wrong and even under the most generous possible interpretation that’s a dramatic overstatement. Even with no video, if Nathan Phillips had gone to my school with that story it would’ve resulted in suspensions at the very least.

Chaos @chaosprimeReplying to @chaosprime @rhdalykey piece of context that's easy to miss if you don't read the Herzog piece is that these are kids *waiting for their bus to come pick them up*. they aren't a roving warband working themselves into a racism frenzy; they're doing pep squad ritual crap to pass time and drown out…2 replies 0 retweets 1 like -
How is that exculpatory and who said they were a roving band of hooligans? They were waiting next to the asshole Black Israelites, Phillips got between the two groups, many of the kids were huge douchebags to him. Were you never bullied in high school?

it's exculpatory in that the first version of the story that got everybody riled up was literally that they were a roving band of hooligans who had approached and surrounded this poor native american man minding his own business, possibly? i know plenty about bullies thanks

Replying to @chaosprime @FirstClassHack and
it started with abject fucking lies, everybody got a giant hategasm going, the lies came out and the hategasm was like "fuck you i feel good i'm a hategasm" and has been scooping up every shitty justification for why the story *should have* been true ever since

It started with a video that looked pretty fucking bad and still looks bad even when you watch the full two hours. It resonated, not because these kids seemed like unbelievable monsters, but because of the banality of their douchebaggery.

right. so we start off with a hategasm from a sleight-of-hand clip misrepresented in every possible way, then because it wouldn't be fun to acknowledge we got played and acted like complete assholes we find increasingly horseshit reasons they were BAD KIDS like extreme banality
