I didn't say the guy in the hat deserved anything. I said wearing the hat is a deliberate racist provocation. Wearing a swastika is different than wearing any sort of clothing. The hat is a political statement and a threat. Pretty sure you're aware of that.https://twitter.com/James_Hiler/status/1088289789756010497 …
right. my feelings about what you do are what determines your motivations for what you do. incidentally, please tone down your unbridled admiration of me as displayed by your use of the word "theoretical", i'm very humble and it's making me uncomfortable

By your reasoning, if I wear a swastika as an Indian good luck charm, it’s not a racist provocation b/c I didn’t mean it. Not true: most people would be provoked. It’s either an accidental provocation—I honestly didn’t know—or a negligent provocation—I honestly didn’t care.

that... isn't my reasoning? and okay, you don't care, but the point being put forth by noah is that it was neither an accidental nor negligent provocation but a deliberate one and this matters (and that doesn't make them fair game or anything wink wink)

You’re pretty bad at this. Trump is racist. Maga is his slogan. It is a racist slogan. Wearing a racist slogan makes a reasonable case for you being racist absent other context. Your argument has no reasoning to it. If you don’t agree Trump is racist then you aren’t in good faith
-
well, you've certainly given me food for thought on the topic of reasoning
