it would be one thing if the outgroup hate industrial complex didn't do this shit *all the time* but, jesus, not normally targeting children that's like the point in the mafia movie where somebody's wife and kids get hit and you know it's gonna get real fucking messy

If it helps you can call them thugs or young adults or something to pretend they're not kids. it's the usual method when a cop shoots some kid, I see no reason not to apply it here

yes, certainly no reason to use a behavioral standard other than "murderous cop" after all there's a war on

Sadly, that is the case. And (especially since it's not like they're murder victims, just being shamed online) I'm not seeing a compelling argument to treat trump's red guard cadres with kid gloves

hi hiki, you aren't actually new so i know you know doxing is not "being shamed online" and if not necessarily a step toward a crowdsourced murder is absolutely a solicitation of one

I know that that's the folk belief in your corner of Twitter, but afaik there aren't any cases to cite. Also, it's not like these kids were bystanders. They went into the PvP zone and did PvP and now other players in the awful trash MMORPG called politics are doing PvP back.

i have a corner of Twitter? where is that? is every swatting death not also a doxing death? they did some common or garden variety demo, then rather gently and inchoately mocked a counterprotester who got in their faces. shaming them for this, okay, sure, if you like

"posting home addresses is over the line. But merely posting names?" What is the point of that unless you have some interest in someone else eventually doing bad shit to them? iow, why pretend you have 'a line' at all?

there are use cases that are to do with more acceptable values of bad shit like, by just putting their name out there, you're more soliciting future job interviewers remembering them as That Asshole than soliciting a hit

exactly! I consider this to be entirely acceptable. random crazies aside (and every side, ever, will always have some), this is the actual thing everyone on the left on my feed is calling for
