this isn't that unrealistic there are regionally accredited schools that, if maybe not usually the entire degree, assign credit by a method called portfolio assessment where some rando decides what your real world accomplishments are equivalent to in classes

you'd probably have to put in a good chunk of time and money before you actually found out but you could try it with the place that i tested out of my bachelor's degree with:https://www.excelsior.edu/policy/portfolio-assessment/ …

"Portfolio credit is not permitted to be used to fulfill the Capstone, Information Literacy or Written English requirements."; this is funny since sitting around listening to 50 people read their story about Halloween out loud to the class is what made me drop out of college

yeah, all that stuff is after my time, i slid in before they dropped the thing where if you got a 90th+ percentile score on the GRE Subject Test in Computer Science you got a full year's worth of credits for it

I showed up at FAU like "hey I've been programming professionally for like 6 years and am currently the senior developer at a place can I get some CS101 credits?" and they were like "no" and then "read your Halloween story out loud to the class" and I was like "ok well"

ugh yeah that's terrible, if your intake person knew their ass from their elbows they would at least have had you take an array of $50 tests that are worth 3-12 credits each nearly everywhere, including an intro computing one

CLEPs and DSSTs if you ever feel like fucking with it again, they're easy as shit tbh and the bang/buck ratio is off the charts
