Today's quasi-random thought: Social hierarchies are not at all the same as social classes. The former are based on personal characteristics you do or do not have; the latter on what property you do or do not own.

I'm just trying to untangle social class and economic class. The latter is about your wealth, but the former includes things that require wealth--like expensive dentistry.

ohh i see one thing i think Steve is getting at is there isn’t one social stratification, they’re all over, inverse to each other, etc etc there was a semi-credible appearance of one briefly because of centralized mass media but it’s a ragged zombie husk of itself at this point
