Its the health insurance bit that is weirdest to me. He’s self-employed, so if he had to do that on his own st his income level he’d be paying a grand or more a month for that. Good for him, but quit your job and work as a freelancer doesn’t work for everyone.
that's a plausible price given that Massachusetts has a health care exchange market that seems to be moderately better implemented than most of the rest of the country. alternatively, he's only 25 so is still eligible for COBRA and maybe he's just piggybacking on his parents
