any of your neuroplasticity you use up learning a particular company's platform and practices instead of general principles is straight up depreciation on your brain that you're just absorbing the way an Uber driver absorbs depreciation on their car have a great day

your brain forms neural architectures for specific tasks by taking a bunch of neurons that are hanging around, throwing the task at them, taking the ones that form a successful adaptation and letting the rest die, but sure, learning is magic and you don't have any limits

In other words, you don’t really know that this is true.

I mean, you’re probably mostly right, but I haven’t seen anything that indicates that you would be an authority on the topic. In what context did you learn about this? How long ago?

you seem like a basically nice kid so i'm going to keep fighting the impulse to conclusively demonstrate that i have no need to prove anything to you for another minute the mechanism was first explicitly described to me by a news article about a scientific paper ~8 months ago

Regarding the “no obligation” impulse, I do think writing stuff in a public forum like Twitter comes with some amount (varies on context) of obligation to back up your claims. You obv. have no specific obligation toward me, a random stranger popping in with rude comments though.
