hehe I mean the abilities the Skynet super AI has in the movies clearly lead to the paperclip catastrophe scenario. You have to reject some of the premises established in the story to have mankind's triumph make sense.

yeah, if one were tempted to be such a terrible nerd as to try to rationalize the worldbuilding one might wind up with a similar conclusion to what one has to impute about The Matrix, that the AIs have some vestigial Asimov programming keeping them from finishing the job
