this is a gross overestimation of how hard it is to meet everyone's basic needs like a lot of our political economy is devoted to propping up capital because it became too easy to make things, especially food, I'm sure you know this so I'm confused what you mean

i think he's simply implying that there's a non-zero chance people are forced to work as opposed to having the option to starve in certain countries whose populations have become used to having the option

people...don't choose to starve, though, I'd assumed we were speaking metaphorically, people inevitably either work horrible jobs for horrible hours, lean on those close to them or become homeless and have their suicide rates spike is it the homeless death spiral we'll miss?
