Kitchen Confidental was the dayjob book club's selection. i told the group i loved his value system and found it refreshing and inspirational. the woman who had suggested the book nasally announced that she wouldn't call it inspirational. so i have a new mortal nemesis

You don't need the government to be evil for criminality to be required, just sloppy. And a sloppy government is less likely to successfully force compliance through fear.
