Systems are inherently schematic, which means they impose theory on the facts. Method--at least, a correct method--deduces theory from the facts.

Physics and biology carved up natural philosophy. Regular old philosophy is a shadow of its former self. I see our understanding of epistemology as being not much better than Lucretius’ understanding of particle physics—he got a lot right, surprisingly, but it was by accident.
