a criminally underrated grownup behavior is being able to appreciate somebody else for doing what you want sexually instead of hating them for it because you're a deranged mass of self-flagellation

Gotta confess, I'm curious what this is supposed to mean.

it's not trying to conceal any secrets run backwards, it's "it sucks when people hate the people who do what they want sexually, which i attribute to the first people being deranged masses of self-flagellation. not doing that and appreciating said behavior instead is rad."

Yes, and I can't picture what an example of this would look like. It's not an impulse/emotional reaction I've ever heard of before, unless there's some obvious interpretation of it I'm missing.

i feel like i'm ruining something beautiful if this pattern is entirely alien to you, but the easy example is the bro who regards women who have sex with him too readily as dirty sluts (which, to be clear, is a bad thing in his mind)

Huh, it wouldn't have occurred to me to associate that with self-flagellation (or with something many guys shed in adulthood).

it's a stealthy sort of self-flagellation, regarding your sexuality as filthy even as you indulge it sociopathically; mainstream masculinity reveals how it regards things by behavior, not affect. i'm definitely not articulating a broadly held position by calling it childish, lol
