it's wrong on every level. living as an emotional/gender-nonconforming male comes with it extreme social difficulties. in no way are men's emotions "catered to"
"they don't have to?" yeah they can get the privilege of patriarchy if they just deny who they are, shut down their emotions, and live as a shallow husk. that's an asinine concept of privilege
including the wage gap under "catering to emotions" is similarly asinine. the phenomenon i'm describing is not having your emotions taken seriously ever because you're supposed to 'man up and deal with it'.
there are obvious privileges that men have in society because of enduring patriarchal norms. i accept that. in no way do men have privilege in having their emotional needs considered however
men aligning with this existing system requires emotional repression, though. i just don't see how they're having their emotions catered to given that condition. + she explicitly said "men aren't actually told they can't be emotional", which just seems flat out wrong
we will cater to your emotions as long as you have only the Correct Emotions you may have Privilege as long as you Conform hmmmmmm
