Wow. Nationwide protests to curb police violence and you are asking for MORE prosecutions. You are the problem. Get off your wealthy liberal high horse.

Oh hey class keyboard-warrior, we still have murders here, rapes, burglary. We can curb police violence AND prosecute crime - imagine, it’s possible to hold two ideas in your head at the same time. Try it sometime.

Beautifully said. People are getting myopic about a legitimate issue and filtering out all of the other essential work the police and DA’s do on a day to day basis. I don’t believe they don’t want to prosecute rape, murder, or assault, but a narrow view excludes much

Apparently Karen blocked me. It’s hard to confront the truth. Violent crime in SF is at historic lows Karen! SFPD continues to be sued over racism! I’m sure you’ve never had to worry about the police in your ivory tower but the vast majority are not arrested on violent charges!

That’s cool. I used to live in west philly where we had all sorts of crazy shit happen. Appreciate your perception of what an ivory tower is considering you apparently have no crime in SF aside from racism

I didn’t say there was no crime! Karen is constantly talking shit about our DA, who was elected on a platform of decriminalizing many of the crimes used to overpolice minority communities. She wasn’t joking when she says she thinks he doesn’t prosecute murderers!

Admittedly I don’t follow SF local prosecutions. Are most lawsuits against the PD won or settled? This also brings up how decriminalization squares with the broken windows theory. What’s your take?

SFPD was sued by the ACLU for targeting only black residents in arrests in 2016. The city just settled this year. The current DA was elected out of a response of that. Some people like Karen, complain the DA isn’t prosecuting enough people, which seems like a racist dog whistle!

And I HATE it when they settle. It literally prevents discovery in court that would be available to the public. Bad stuff can get swept under the rug
