So true. This junk takes up way too much time. Recently I had to submit justification why my trainees had to attend the conference so they could get reimbursed. Takes away valuable time that could be used for actual science

I’ve found myself at times wanting to improve and then just leaning on words like “it’s just how it is””it’s how I was brought up””it’s what I know””it’s just who I am” among others as excuses not to face issues and grow. Change is a choice and if you want it, choose it.

To our WashU followers -- please come support our labmate and friend, Katie, next week by getting a cheek swab (followed by a cheekful of doughnut!) as she and we try and find her marrow donor match!

Two trillion dollars would fund the in entirety for 52 years... Alzheimer’s, cancer, Parkinson’s, epilepsy, blindness, heart disease, diabetes, infectious disease, multiple sclerosis, ALS, etc... all the things that do most of the killing in this world could be mitigated.
