@TeamYouTube Helping a friend set up a custom url on Youtube, but when selecting URL, it only displays http://youtube.com/c and nothing after. He clicks confirm and is taken right back to the creator studio, with no custom URL in added.

First, check out the general eligibility requirements here: https://goo.gl/ruFcXC . If your friend is eligible, they should see a notice in the advanced account settings. And to get set up, just follow the steps outlined in that same help resource!

His channel is eligible. While going through the steps it comes to the confirm screen but appears to be experiencing some kind of problem. After confirming, it goes back to the dashboard, yet the custom url seems to not be created.pic.twitter.com/t0BhTQ25LF

Notice the custom url comes up, but doesn't show the actual custom name on the confirm screen. it only shows youtube. com/c

Hmm, try clearing your browser's cache & cookies as well as trying another browser and let us know if it is otherwise.

Ok so we just cleared cache and cookies, and are receiving the same as the above image. Thoughts?

That's odd. Are you able to share the channel URL? That will help us look into it.

Hmm, try using Incognito Mode or a different browser and see if that helps fix this. If nothing works, send feedback using the following link and we'll take a look: https://goo.gl/WdI0BK

Ran into same issue. I'm having him submit through the 'Send Feedback' link. BTW, the screen shot function of the 'Send Feedback' function should allow for uploading your own screen grab, as opposed to forcing you to take a screen shot right then and there. Food for thought.
