Just me, or is the medical licensing/credentialing process needlessly complicated?

Absolutely freaking ridiculous that I have to waste time compiling data (much of which is publicly available) and answer the same questions for the licensing board/hospital/insurance plans. Why can’t the board upload my certificate? Why can’t they pull my NPI from the database?

Not if you look at cases of people with literally no training getting jobs as physicians. It really happens.

It has happened, rarely. But nothing I’ve clicked on would have prevented that. And perhaps having a better system would preclude it.

Anytime something that is required is needlessly complicated, somebody is making a buck off of it.
