I interviewed & tested to design enamel pins of licensed characters. I didn't love it, but it was an art job, so I would have taken it and likely stopped looking for anything else. The day after they passed on me, I got the opportunity to test/interview at my first game studio.

It wasn't called ProPins was it? I did some freelance work for enamel pins about 20 years ago!

Im sure this path would have been cool, but. My first reel got me an interview at rockstar north, and i failed, and went lionhead instead, but started doing youtube stuff. Rockstar saw the youtube and changed their mind, but by then I wanted to just pursue personal work (1/2)

I would have been working on GTA5? around 2011. I bet I would have stayed there a long time, gone pretty mocap heavy and never made ori/firewatch etc

Rockstar North... Had just been made redundant, was offered an interview with R* North, went in there a little bit too sure of myself, got rejected, felt terrible, reflected on why... adapted and moved to Toronto... to be Anim Director of UbiTO, got married and had a kid.

Also don't think I would of had the chance to speak at GDC (at the time) and meet so many of the people on here, or be given the opportunity to work with and develop Motion Matching. Other cool stuff would of happened but probably with or without me. At Ubi To I felt valued
