    I’m thinking of Gregory Hill Jr.’s family. Hill, a black father, was killed in the garage of his FL home by cops who were responding to a noise complaint. The officers were never charged & a jury awarded $4 in damages: $1 for funeral expenses & $1 for each of his children’s loss.

    gregory hill jr was shot by the police in his own garage through the garage door. his daughter was across the street and saw the entire thing happen. his family was awarded 1$ each. $4 in total. he was killed for listening to rap music in the comfort of his own home.

    Truly adding insult to injury. Keep in mind they are trying to intimidate people from not answering the census by proposing a citizenship question. I think the courts are still pondering... Voter suppression is active while we are all sleeping.

    Looking at R1 university websites for a service task and struck by the number of sites featuring students of color on their websites. Although I presume intentions are good, be sure you put the same effort into recruiting and retaining historically under-represented students.
