I’ll add how impressed I was with @JonathanMetzl and his grace and poise after they left: “Does anyone want to process that before I get back to what I was saying?”

I spent the morning speaking at the amazing
#AntiracistBookFest - then these losers tried to make the afternoon into the racistbookfest - But the audience wasn’t having it -
Wtf? Glad you're ok. What were they chanting as they walked around?
-
It sounded like hate? But I wasn’t sure. Honestly something remarkable happened after they left, we had an hour long conversation about just what kind of country we want to live in.
-
That's what I thought it sounded like too. I'm glad it resulted in a good convo but it's still not any less unsettling. Wow.

Maybe “AIM.” American Identity Movement.
-
Seems to be.
@space_is_fizzy identifies the guy with the bullhorn as Patrick Casey, who leads a group called AIM America.https://twitter.com/space_is_fizzy/status/1122256227709476864 … -

Suggestion: don't retweet and fuel them; instead retweet
@JonathanMetzl 's pinned tweet linking to his book -
The sad irony is that there was a man in the audience who had helped my dad and grandparents escape Nazi Austria by Standing up to be their host family - Not five minutes before I had acknowledged him and said this is how great America can be when it is bold and generous
-
Wow... well, now that story is even MORE public! Thank you.

Great full face shots making it sooooo easy to ID them.
-
Yes please. Is there a site for that?
-
The American identity movement is tweeting about the incident And their role in saving America for white people. I’m not going to forward because I don’t want to participate in getting them more Twitter attention. But they are pretty much identifying themselves.
-
i think they’re wanting to identify the individuals, to notify their employers, or at least publicly shame them, which i would also very much like to see. these slug buckets need to know there are consequences for being slug buckets.
-
There is a strong independent coalition since Charlottesville to identify as many of these people as possible. It uses
#IdentifyEvropa, and has been extremely important. Many of the armed service individuals, police, etc we hear about “outed” in the news come from that. -
Several anti-fascist groups have put out many strong reports about these people. My guess is that this batch isn’t terribly worried about being identified. If anything, AIM wants to recover some lost bluster
