Is there a difference between mobile and desktop readers?
In an upcoming #TheWebConf2020 paper with @tizianopiccardi, @mad_astronaut, @giovanni1085, we for the first time investigate how Wikipedia readers engage with citations. Spoiler: they rarely do; and when they do, they do more so on low-quality articles.

Yes! It depends on the metric chosen, but from desktop, readers interact at least 2 times more than from mobile. Section 4.2

Well, a lot of the refs are broken links or to dead sites. Yes that's getting better, but it's still a huge problem. Also, on mobile it's very hard to edit, many of the tools don't work, etc.
