Thoughts on using #stand in activism, like "I am standing up for..." or "we stand in solidarity with..."?

I have been thinking about and wondering this for a few years now. I’m with you. I think it’s ableist. Been working on alternatives.

Sure! I've been toying with just eliminating "stand" so that it's: I am in solidarity with...etc. Others: I am an accomplice with/for xyz...I am working towards xyz...I am committed to...I am dedicated to... These don't feel revelatory in any way... :)

That's about where I'm at w/ this, as well. The other thing, though, is that I usually would be saying this kind of thing in a moment when I have the opportunity to be more specific with more words.

Often, however, "stand" is being used in moments where only a phrase or sentence can be used (like a poster) & so it seems at this point that the suggestions u mentioned r where I have arrived.
