I hear u & that's how i feel come thanksgiving time every year. But the 4th, i see as a celebration of ideals, hope, light, possibility 
I'm a 34-year-old American & I still feel icky every year w/ July 4th celebrations. Fireworks for what? All this oppression? Shabbat Shalom.
