I recognize that we had a conversation around bikini body ideals & standards & the triggers & challenges that emerge around summer & bodies.

Let us not forget that any season can be a challenge or trigger. Any day of any year can be a moment that causes us pause or fear.

Any season or day or moment or minute or second or breath can render us unknown of our own self. So may conversations like these build.

May they build community & hope & courage & knowing & love & unwavering, unyielding hold on our ability to love each other & ourselves.

Bikini body ideals do not happen in a vacuum. They did not emerge solely from a conversation around what a body should look like in size.

Let us always hold space in all of our conversations around body image that demands inclusion around the countless ways bodies aren't heard.

And so, as we continue momentum into the summer ahead, in the wake of devastating murders & injustice around how a body should look...

...may we counter the boundless bikini body ideal w/ the boundless unconditional love we have within ourselves.
