Unfortunately, while re-reporting a story really is a form of plaigerism, it is also exceedingly common in our industry. And while I personally would never do it (I'd try to find a new angle) a lot of reporters and editors feel fine with it. But it's shady AF.
I’ve had this happen with stories as well. It’s awful. Gut-wrenching. You of course have to protect yourself & needs & reclaim your control here. FWIW ur original piece is amazing & we need to know this truth and YOUR WORDS REIGN SUPREME HERE.
