their dog. And then I looked at them and said, with my hand on my heart, I saw your shirt and I turned back - thank you for wearing that. They said - thank you for noticing. I started to choke up in my chest. We looked at each other. They knew what was going through my heart.

There is something wildly profound about simultaneously engaging with activism for a cause that impacts you, while also asking for support. Period. End homelessness with a period at the end. That right there - that shirt on their chest - is a profound act and exchange of change.
