A bill we've been working on for quite a long time is up to vote now - the updates to the Condo Conversion ordinance add anti-Displacement measures, extends coverage to 2-4 unit buildings, preserves the total # of rental units available in the city.

Today we honor Dr. King’s radical legacy by taking Oakland back from the big banks, corporations and real estate speculators. Thank you to our supporters, who stood by us every step of the way. We can’t wait to get back to Moms’ House and keep building this movement with you.

Huge news: We have reached an agreement to purchase . Wedgewood will negotiate in good faith w/ the Oakland Community Land Trust () to purchase the Magnolia Street home for "a price not to exceed the appraised value." This is what happens when we organize, y'all.

It is incredibly clear that the battle are fighting is not about just one house. The severe response from the police and military is meant to make an example of and put fear into the community and make an example of these mothers by arresting them.
