@ceejbot can they be isolated on other OS worlds? Windows is the only non-UNIXy I can think of.
A app or server or “thing you want to deploy & run” can’t be isolated. Config & deps are splattered all over.

@brianwisti I was thinking I don’t know enough about old stuff like VAX to say what it could/couldn’t do. Will ask the spouse.

@ceejbot YEAH! even simple things like “run this as a service and don’t let it die” were never successfully encapsulated. -

@ceejbot I've been using sandboxy on windows for ages. It mocks all the settings (registry etc), and lets you run things in a sandbox.
