@ceejbot I also think that it's a failure of secure and automated deployment and conffguration. Configuration is a bitch on unix.
maybe this is the cold medicine, but was thinking that containerization is a reaction to a failure of operating systems. Well, unix.

@ceejbot MySQL configuration on Linux, which I have done a few times, is always black voodoo to me. Can't be sure it's correct, ever. -
@chris_mahan The culture accepts HORRIBLE MESSES & even rewards them: people get paid to config that stuff. -
@ceejbot I went to using Fabric, to automatically provision and setup vps servers (debian stable) but it was still terribly hackish.

@ceejbot this, so much. It's feels more a bandaid over OS/distro/etc brokenness than anything else -
@ceejbot I think you're right. But at a really base level -- the whole concept of an operating system as a featureful thing to depend on.
