Former Broadie. Currently at Harvard. There is a big gap between these lofty, romantic articles and the brutal expectations of elite research where you either produce at an extremely high level, or you're gone. It's a little awkward when these worlds collide.
I've heard the money story before and am flabbergasted that Harvard/Broad/MIT doesn't chip in the gap. H/B/M has benefited so much from the story of this wonderful couple, they've inspired researchers around the world, which all is free advertising.
