my buddies and I were drinking last night and I was trying to explain, with exasperation, that I can confidently say that I don't like an anime after watching six damn hours of it. he said absolutely not, especially for shows with twist endings

I could kind of see where he was coming from... but also, how would anyone know they don't like Naruto? Bleach? that's a high bar, my dude! what if I hate the tone or the style? he said you gotta see more of a show.

then another friend (who does judo) came outside and joined us. I was like, if he judo threw you, would you know for sure you didn't like getting judo thrown until he did it for six hours in total?

was my logic flawed? maybe. but our judo friend wasn't paying attention and loves to do drunk judo, so he immediately proceeded to flip him over and onto the ground

then, cigarette in-tact, my friend stood up and took a drag and said he didn't know if he liked it

all y'all agreeing with me except I know you'd turn your back if I asked you to apply this to Evangelion

I saw 10 episodes is long enough. That’s enough to get through all of JoJo part 1 and start the first episode of the superior part 2.

And I thought the three episode rule was too much

I’d say the amount of “leash” you give a show should depend on the total run time, but I feel like the only shows a “12 episode rule” could possibly apply to are long-running shonen.
