elon musk's thai cave submarine is... absurd. it doesn't make any goddamn sensepic.twitter.com/ntZo2Tghv1

Didn’t a diver named Stanton email Musk saying they could use his help? At least he tried to help. Might not have been 100% altruistic sure but not 100% selfishness but that’s more than a lot of others provided. He tried to create options. This guy didn’t have to do anything
no, reread his email exchange with stanton and consider how much thought stanton, who at the time was extremely busy, seemed to have been putting into it. he basically said "you do you"
If the rain had started early and boys were still inside, Musk's mini-SUV might have been used. Not saying 100%, but there is a fair chance. Don't be too cynical, look at his track record. When a problem strikes him, he doesn't think BS, he tries to solve it. Successful or not.
My god with these ppl's naive love for the guy. Okay I solved a couple problems just now. someone get the dumb haircut; imitate musk and say he's got a seat on SpaceX for the first person to survive a week living on the Great Pacific Ocean Garbage Patch.
It's not a haircut.... it's hair plugs.
He still did more than you did

that's the thing my dude. he did not
Hey, I'm just trying to get his attention for when he dumps Grimes....

honestly i respect this. best of luck to you
Thanks..my dude!!

The save of the century
I Know right??
Well played
More likely hubris than a lie, but I could be mistaken.
the project was hubris. saying that it had been approved by people on-site to go the length of the cave and perform the role it had been designed for was a lie
I didn't see you offer any help. Or did I miss the part where you spend money on the R&D costs of a potential solution the could have assisted in saving those boys, and will probably be improved to fit circumstances better if problems arise, and might save lives in the future?
Lol, so you are saying he was lying, got it
And what did you do while musk was spending money and time to try and save kids with his invention?
You know it's possible to try to help people 1) without turning it into an headline spectacle, and 2) without lying about it?pic.twitter.com/zJ5yrzKi9t
I don’t think there’s a way to do it without being a spectacle given it was so widely covored on the news, also how did he exactly lie again?
... come on, you're smarter than this, man!! Do you think he posts everything he plans builds on TWITTER? Or shares it with the media without an embargo (if at all?). He said multiple times that he tested it based on the layout of the cave (he didn't) and that it would fit.
What do you think is more likely, that he knowingly lied for a publicity stunt to benefit (somehow?) from spending money on a knowingly flawed invention, OR that its an incredibly complicated engineering job and they got it wrong, but tried their best?
Are you really blatantly ignoring the novel I wrote about how I don't believe he has purely bad intentions, but rather doesn't consider the gravity and reality of his actions? I also don't believe he's a bleeding heart philanthropist either, though.
His political donations are mainly aligned with his financial and business interests, and his humanitarian idea announcements (which mainly go unfulfilled) are always very public and often coincide with other news that may be perceived negatively by the public.
I do believe that some level of the exaggerating he does he is aware of. He saw that the device was tested in a swimming pool and only moved through a horizontal plane, yet he claimed it was tested based on the layout of the cave and would 100% work. He then discredited -
