is it just me or is this 'critique of capitalist culture' thing associated with vaporwave a joke? like it's just a blanket term that early journalists used to give the genre a 'deeper meaning' in the beginning. people who still bring that shit up hold it back imo.

I'd say that Far Side Virtual kind of just polluted newer people who came from it to vaporwave thinking that all of vaporwave stemmed from it.

I can see the critique of capitalist culture, I consider it true in many cases but it is totally true people over use that as if vapowave was some punk rock and its none.
