The green and pink background, which was panned when posted on social media, was always going to run inside the magazine, just not as the cover. And, yes, fashion magazines work w/ their subjects on placement, unlike lots of other media.
Update: Harris has asked for a new cover, but Vogue hasn’t committed to releasing both images for the front of its February issue (chances are it would cost the mag more $).
The difference only matters to Kamala’s team. I’m an art director and #3 is much more Vogue. #1 is Time / the Economist. Can’t have your cake & eat it too.
