So first fight to get votes for public option. Give time for insurance companies to build propaganda against M4A and public option. Then fight to get votes for M4A. Brilliant!

3 yrs is not close to long enough. It’s why I abandoned her campaign. It’s lunacy you think a change that spectacularly dramatic could happen in 3 years. It has to be a process. A public option would pave the way.

Expanding people in private insurance entrenches it further. Warren’s public option in year 1 is government Medicare

She’s just lying to the people. No way would an opt in in three years would pave the way for M4A. At least
@PeteButtigieg is being honest in saying it would be a public option until most are on the public plan (if it’s better!) , thereby automatically creating a M4A environment -
Hes just lying. Warren's plan is an opt-out for those who would receive free coverage (under 200% off the FPL or under 18). And Warren's plan isnt a glide path where we assume people will shift over time- it's a proof of concept to build support and assuage fears.

I'm a Sanders supporter who likes Warren, and, while that approach might work administratively or politically, I'd remind that Dem MOCs ran away from the ACA in 2012 and got clobbered w/ it. 1/

She has the spine as long as someone is holding her up but left to her own principles she has simply not shown herself to be able to stand against the pressure.
