After thinking about it a lot, I’ve decided which nonprofits I’ll be donating to in 2020. I plan to contribute $50/month each to 10 organizations (5 in the Bay Area and 5 outside). Thanks to everyone who gave me suggestions!

@SFBike Coalition, which has an amazing staff (including@JaniceForBART) that has made incredible progress toward making biking more accessible, safe, and equitable in the city. I’m a proud member and I want to do even more to support their work

@AsianPrisonerSC, which is based in Oakland and aims to provide support to API prisoners and “raise awareness about the growing number of APIs being imprisoned, detained, and deported” (recommended by@joannejyi and@karenni25)

@Montrose_Center, which serves the LGBTQ+ population in Houston with all sorts of resources including therapy, a clinic, a prom for teenagers, & much more. I volunteered with them while in Houston and was so inspired

I’ll match these donations through my job when I can. I still plan to donate to other causes on an ad hoc basis and I’m also hoping to do more volunteer work this year with some of these organizations and others
