AAP calls for an end to spanking children in a new policy statement described in @nytimes. Ask your pediatrician for advice on healthier ways to discipline, that don't harm the loving relationship between parents and child, pediatrician Dr. Robert Sege says.

Replying to @AmerAcadPeds @nytimes
So will your replacement for the 2012 circumcision statement also call for an end to that? After all, amputating healthy body parts is much worse than corporal punishment.

Replying to @ReyosB @Jacobdude and
I agree. How can @AmerAcadPeds jointly oppose hitting/beating children ("spanking") while at the same time promoting and carrying out genital cutting/mutilation of children ("circumcision")? I firmly oppose both harmful cultural practices. #i2
