It opens with the comforting line, "Welcome to the threshold of hell (just kidding, more like the patio, or court- yard of hell)." The TL;DR version of the letter is that it does get better. You survive the first year by surviving.
If you're struggling, know at least that a lot of us struggled our first year too.
